Glass overhead doors

A modern, stylish and space-saving alternative for commercial and industrial buildings

Glass overhead doors are becoming increasingly popular in showrooms, workshops and modern industrial facilities. They bring in natural light, create visual openness and give any space a clean, contemporary look. But traditional glass overhead doors come with limitations: they require extensive ceiling tracks, they take up valuable space and their moving parts often need frequent maintenance.

The Compact door by Rolflex offers a smarter approach. With its unique folding system and elegant full-vision glass panels, it combines the aesthetics of a glass overhead door with the convenience of a track-free design — giving you maximum flexibility, style and reliability.

A new take on the traditional glass overhead door

Unlike standard glass sectional doors, the Compact door folds its panels upwards, stacking them neatly above the opening. This means there are no ceiling rails, no torsion springs and no bulky overhead tracks. You get a sleek, minimalist ceiling and a clean architectural look, without compromising visibility or natural light.

Every door is made to measure and available with various full-vision glass panel options, aluminium profiles, insulated glazing and custom colours — allowing you to perfectly match the design of your building.

Advantages of the Compact glass overhead door

Modern, transparent design with maximum daylight

With full-vision glass panels, the Compact door brightens the interior, enhances the customer experience, and creates a sense of openness. Ideal for showrooms, workshops or hospitality settings where appearance matters just as much as functionality.

Construction site update: Windows and Compact folding door

Space-saving folding system with no ceiling tracks

Because the door folds instead of slides, the entire ceiling remains free for lighting, ventilation, sprinkler systems or crane tracks. Whether you’re working in a showroom with a sleek interior or an industrial space with technical installations, the Compact door keeps everything accessible and unobstructed.

Showroom doors

Low maintenance and long-lasting performance

Traditional glass overhead doors rely on torsion springs and rail systems that require regular servicing. The Compact door operates without torsion springs and has fewer moving parts, resulting in lower maintenance costs and improved reliability — even with frequent daily use.

Where glass Compact doors are used

Glass overhead doors are ideal for spaces where transparency, design and functionality need to come together. The Compact folding door is frequently chosen for:

  • Car showrooms and dealership interiors
  • Workshops and service areas
  • Retail stores and commercial buildings
  • Industrial facilities where natural light enhances productivity
  • Architectural projects seeking a modern, minimalistic façade

With its clean look and quiet operation, the Compact door elevates both the interior and exterior of any building.

Compact doors at Bazaar Beverwijk.

At De Bazaar in Beverwijk, a door solution was needed for the various halls and access routes—one that was not only reliable and space-saving but also matched the unique character of the market. Traditional overhead or roller doors didn’t meet the requirements: they took up too much space or blocked natural light, limiting both the appearance and functionality of the halls. De Bazaar opted for no fewer than 13 Compact doors from Rolflex, all fitted with glass. Explore this project and get inspired

Cervus Equipment has a new branch in Feilding (New Zealand), at that location Rolflex supplied 2 Industrial Compact doors. The doors perfectly match the style of the building, thanks to the glazing allowing plenty of natural light to enter. These doors of almost 5 by 5 metres also fold into a compact stack of panels, so no space is wasted unnecessarily.

Compact Spray booth door with wicket door in Zeebrugge

With spray booths, it is important that no dust or dirt can get into the booth. With the Compact folding door, the door is folded outside the booth, so no dirt from above gets onto the cars. This project also called for a wicket door, so that the spray booths can be easily accessed. Finally, the company was looking for a door that could be made of out glass, as this offers more transparency. The Compact door proved to be the solution.
