Compact doors for halls housing heavy vehicles

Maximum clearance, maximum reliability

In buildings where heavy vehicles enter and exit – such as lorries, agricultural machinery, fire engines or industrial transport vehicles – the industrial door is of crucial importance. The clearance must be utilised to the full, the operation must be reliable, and the door must not impose any restrictions on height, space or logistics.

The Compact door from Rolflex is particularly suitable for halls with heavy vehicles. Thanks to its unique folding system, the entire space beneath the ceiling remains clear and the maximum clearance height is utilised to the full.

Making full use of the clearance height

With traditional sectional doors and vertical systems, part of the clearance is often lost due to rails, fittings or the height of the structure. This can cause problems, particularly with tall vehicles.

The Compact door works differently. The panels fold compactly above the opening, without long ceiling rails. This means the full clear height remains available for tall vehicles, such as:

  • Lorries and trailers
  • Agricultural machinery
  • Fire engines
  • Industrial transport vehicles

Every centimetre counts – especially with heavy vehicles.

Safety for heavy vehicles

Compact deur in kraanbaanhallen

Halls for heavy vehicles often contain:

  • Overhead cranes
  • Extraction systems
  • Pipes and cable trays
  • Lighting and ventilation systems

As the Compact door does not require rails under the ceiling, this space remains completely unobstructed. This offers maximum flexibility when designing the layout of the hall.

Halls with heavy vehicles often experience heavy traffic flows. The door opens and closes several times a day, sometimes dozens or even hundreds of times.

The Compact door:

  • Operates without torsion springs
  • Is TÜV-tested to 100,000 cycles
  • Has fewer parts prone to wear
  • Requires less maintenance than traditional overhead doors

This reduces downtime and unexpected maintenance costs.

Visibility and safety are essential for large vehicles. The Compact door can be fitted with:

  • Windows for extra natural light
  • Warning systems
  • Light curtains that detect obstacles
  • Automatic locking

If an obstacle is detected, the door stops immediately and moves back up. This prevents damage to both vehicles and installations.

Outdoor installation possible

To maximise interior space, the Compact door can also be installed on the outside of the building. This ensures that all moving parts remain outside the workspace, creating maximum freedom of movement inside.

Applications across various sectors

The Compact door is particularly suitable for haulage companies where lorries drive in and out daily, for logistics centres with high volumes of goods traffic, and for fire stations where rapid and reliable access is vital. The Compact door also offers clear added value in agricultural businesses with large machinery, workshops for heavy equipment, and industrial production halls where space is at a premium.

Wherever large vehicles need to be able to drive through safely, efficiently and without restrictions, the Compact door provides a future-proof solution.

Configure your Compact door for heavy-duty vehicles

No two buildings are the same, and vehicles also vary in height, width and frequency of use. That is why every Compact door is manufactured entirely to measure. You decide on the exact dimensions, the colour, any glazing and the desired motorisation.

The online configurator instantly shows you how the door folds above the opening and how you can make the most of the available passage space. This gives you a clear expectation upfront and allows you to receive a fully tailored, no-obligation quote for your specific situation.

Optimal working height Ter Linden Transport crane track doors Rolflex
The Netherlands | Crane tracks, Logistics

Crane track doors at Ter Linden Transport: optimal freedom of movement.

Ter Linden Transport is a specialist in international special transport, particularly for large objects such as wind turbines. From their headquarters in Doetinchem, they handle the logistical preparation of their transports, using a large hall to prepare their vehicles and equipment. A crane track is installed in this hall and is used regularly. A few years ago, the company was looking for a door solution that would provide sufficient space for their operations while being reliable, robust, and well-insulated. The Compact door from Rolflex proved to be the ideal choice.

Industrial doors at Cervus Equipment in New Zealand

Cervus Equipment has a new branch in Feilding (New Zealand), at that location Rolflex supplied 2 Industrial Compact doors. The doors perfectly match the style of the building, thanks to the glazing allowing plenty of natural light to enter. These doors of almost 5 by 5 metres also fold into a compact stack of panels, so no space is wasted unnecessarily.

Compact sectional overhead door in Milan at CGT Carugate.

At CGT Carugate it was quite a task to find suitable sectional overhead doors. This brought them to the Compact sectional overhead door. This gave them all the options they were looking for. For example, they could still use crane tracks, lighting and a shop window floor. And all that because of the Compact sectional overhead door.
