We delivered 49 Compact overhead doors for Circuit Barcelona Catalunya for the paddock. The doors in this project are equipped with sandwich panels in combination with full light panels, similar to frosted glass and with wicket doors. The full light panels ensure that light shines into the building, but you cannot see through it.
Why did Circuit Barcelona choose the Compact overhead door?
The Barcelona circuit has been thoroughly renovated in recent years to prepare it for Formula 1 races. The former sliding doors of the paddocks had to be replaced as they were outdated and not insulated. A overhead door with overhead rails would not have fitted, as pipes run along the ceiling behind the door opening. Rolflex overhead doors were the best option for Circuit Barcelona. Since the Rolflex Compact doors fold up over the door opening, no overhead rails are required, allowing the space to be used optimally. The teams can therefore work well whether the doors are open or closed.
The space-saving folding system from Rolflex ensures that the devices get the space they need in the workshop. The wicket door allows technicians easy access to the room.
The Compact overhead door is a popular choice for racetracks and workshops because of the space it saves. So, these are also used in the pit lane of the TT racetrack in Assen.
